The service model

We’ve all heard about being customer-centred, service-led, digitally transformed, operationally excellent, or product-focused. But what does that really mean? And how do you get teams to work well together if they all have different approaches?

You can’t just take one new approach in one area and hope for success without understanding and changing the dynamics that guide how an organisation operates.

A unified view of service leadership and delivery spans strategy, policy, operations, digital, technology, product, design, comms, and marketing. It means changes to culture, decision-making, governance, strategy, leadership, teams, and how work is divided and done.

What does a whole service approach enable organisations to do differently? What problems does it solve? What are examples of this in practice, and why are companies and public sector organisations adopting these practices and techniques?

Advisory

We have limited availability in 2027 for board advisory and committee membership or transformation programme oversight. It can be an effective way to bolster or amplify expertise where you already have programmes of change underway.

Founder Kate Tarling can also support procurement processes as independent expert advisor on service design and delivery.
